Information for spotters
Frisian Flag is an exercise that will be visited by a lot of spotters. Many people want to come and see these aircraft depart and arrive at Leeuwarden Air Base. The lucky part is that everyone can actually visit it. There’s a small hill next to the threshold of runway 05, the hill is specially made for the aircraft spotters. During most of the days runway 05-23 will be in use at the airbase, so that’s why we will strongly recommend you to visit the ‘spottersbult’. All the spotterslocations can be found on Google Maps in the bottom section of this webpage.
